Antón Gazenbeek – Tango instructor, performer, choreographer and historian. Anton has taught, performed and choreographed on five continents He is one of the leading experts in Argentine Tango and has lectured at Stanford University, Harvard, MIT, Juilliard School, the Argentine Embassy in Washington, D.C. and across North and South America, Asia and Europe. He has published the first two books in a series of four on the history of Tango. In addition to his dance career he is a fashion model for Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Calvin Klein, AX – Armani Exchange, Abercrombie & Fitch, Andrew Christian Swimwear.

Jody P. Gazenbeek- has thrilled audiences with his tango performances from Paris to Berlin, and from Trinidad to NYC.  Jody often performs with the world renowned Anton Person-Gazenbeek.  They have performed together at The Goldcoast Ballroom, The Black and White Ball, All Night Milonga, The Ball NY, and major dance studios in NY and NJ.  With his female partner Svetlana Keselman, Jody performed at the Broadway Theatre of Pitman, NJ in Vaudeville at the Broadway.  On March 21, 2015 he performed at The National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs, NY for the opening exhibition of the 125 Years of Tango, A Walk Through the History of the Dance.

VivaTango strives to layout the best food and beverage tables for all its events. We have had several great chefs who did this for us in the past. David and Dennis have done this now for the past few years. Our average number of dancers have doubled during this time, and we now want to go to a two person team to do the food each week. So we looking for two Tango Heros to be our food persons.  This team would jointly buy the food each week and set it up at the Suzanne Paterson Building. Argentine pianist EMILIO TEUBAL has lived in New York since 1999. He has played with renowned artists John Benitez, Bob Mover, Daniel Binelli, Héctor del Curto, Yosvany Terry, Lucia Pulido, and Raul Jaurena, among others. He performed in the LA tango show “Al Corazon del Tango” with the Lisandro Adrover quintet. He was awarded the prestigious Van Lier Fellowship in 2007 from Meet the Composers. He has also been a member of many NYC based groups including the Marta Gomez Quintet, and Sebastian Cruz’s Coba.
Bandoneonist DAVID HODGES has appeared at numerous tango festivals around the U.S. He performed at Lincoln Center Midsummer Night Swing; at the Chicago SummerDance Festival; with Argentine tenor Gaston Rivero at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall; with Los Acustilocos at Merkin Concert Hall and with vocalist Jeff Chang at the Hong Kong Coliseum. He has appeared as a guest soloist with the Manhattan School of Music Jazz Philharmonic and performed with the Eternal Tango Orchestra; the Vermont Symphony Orchestra; the Michigan Symphony Orchestra and the Festival Orchestra of Hartford, CT.

This special workshop will be limited to 4 leaders and 4 followers. The workshop will focus on the three key elements to improve the quality of your tango dance: balance, connection, and flow. This is an all levels workshop. The class will begin at 6:45 pm. Cost is only $20. Register now since the work shop will be limited in size. Los Chantas Duo Small

Maurizio Najt, Piano, is a graduate of the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Buenos Aires. He performed with “Amigos del Tango”; Forever Tango Orchestra; New York Tango Trio and other groups. Maurizio has performed in Lincoln Center Alice Tully Hall, Winter Garden, Philadelphia Kimmel Center, and the Argentine Embassy in Washington DC and Tokyo. He co-produced and directed the show “Crónicas de Buenos Aires”, a multimedia and educational review of the history of argentine tango in music and dance.

Javier Sanchez – Bandoneón, has toured the world with Orquesta Típica, Tango Pasión, Tango Viaje al Sentimiento, Pedro Chemes Group, Tango Emotión, Tanguera and Quinteto Típico Buenos Aires. Javier has performed in Buenos Aires tango shows including Café Tortoni, Chiquin Buenos Aires, Pigmalión Tango, El Viejo Almacén, Esquina de Carlos Gardel, Tango Porteño, Piazzolla Tango. Javier has numerous recordings.
