VivaTango Sunday Brunch Milonga

September 22nd  12pm to 3pm in Princeton
Susan Patterson Center

It is with great pleasure that VivaTango announces the start of Sunday Good Time Milonga at the same wonderful dance floor of VivaTango’s Thursday Milongas (45 Stockton, Princeton). Brunch, music by popular DJs and dance hosts will be provided for your pleasure. Brunch will feature a healthy menu with homemade dishes. The Good Time Milonga will occur on every 4th Sunday from 12pm to 3pm.,We hope to see you and all your VivaTango friends at this new event.

The Oscuro Quintet, radiates the passion and the grace of tango from dance floors to concert halls with well-established staples of tango and new, progressive forms of the genre, including pieces composed by members of the group. Bandoneonist Shinjoo Cho, pianist Emilio Teubal, violinist Joseph Kauffman, bassist Ben Blazer, and guitarist Jason Klinke meld their talents to produce music that not only meets the expectations of passion and flair in tango, it also starts a new path for the genre’s evolution. Members of the group have performed in tango festivals on three continents, and prestigious venues such ad Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and the Kimmel Center. Come and dance to their music. Non dancers are welcome to come and listen to them. Admission only $20.

Michael Nadtochi has been a professional dancer for more than two decades. His vast dance experience consists of performing, competing, choreographing and educating dancers and professionals all over the world.  For the past 14 years Michael focused entirely on performing and teaching the art of Argentine Tango. He has traveled the world, took part in major international tango festivals where he taught and performed at some of the most spectacular venues. Germany, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Cyprus, Malaysia, Canada, Scotland are among the countries that he visited as special guests and performing artist. He has taught and performed in the major tango festivals in the USA, and he has been one of the dancers at Malbec & Tango House NYC –  the first authentic nightly Argentine Tango show produced in USA.

Paulita and Michael met at a famous Milonga in Buenos Aires in December 2017. After just a few tandas together, their chemistry on the dance floor was so remarkably unique, that a creative and dynamic partnership was born. They have performed and taught in tango communities across the globe – UK, Germany, Latvia, Russia, Argentina and Italy. Paulita is a master of elegant tango. Come see them in performance in Princeton. They will teach a lesson on “Embrace: Subtle Changes to Allow Figures”.

Latin GRAMMY Award winner Pedro Giraudo is originally from Córdoba Argentina, but moved to New York City in 1996. He has won numerous awards and recognitions, eliciting acclaim from jazz critics. His most recent Grammy award was for Best Tango Album in 2018. His latest album is “An Argentinian in New York”.

Eleonora Kalganova is a dance artist and teacher who focuses on exploring improvisation, flow, and communication in Argentine tango. Eleonora encourages students to develop improvisational skills through simple and dynamic techniques, achieve relaxed and released style, and most importantly, find new and liberating ways of relating, expressing, and communicating non-verbally with others. Eleonora lives in both Russia and the United States. She travels extensively nationally and internationally, performing and conducting workshops.

Maurizio Najt, Piano, is a graduate of the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Buenos Aires. He performed with “Amigos del Tango”; Forever Tango Orchestra; New York Tango Trio and other groups. Maurizio has performed in Lincoln Center Alice Tully Hall, Winter Garden, Philadelphia Kimmel Center, and the Argentine Embassy in Washington DC and Tokyo. He co-produced and directed the show “Crónicas de Buenos Aires”, a multimedia and educational review of the history of argentine tango in music and dance.

Javier Sanchez – Bandoneón, has toured the world with Orquesta Típica, Tango Pasión, Tango Viaje al Sentimiento, Pedro Chemes Group, Tango Emotión, Tanguera and Quinteto Típico Buenos Aires. Javier has performed in Buenos Aires tango shows including Café Tortoni, Chiquin Buenos Aires, Pigmalión Tango, El Viejo Almacén, Esquina de Carlos Gardel, Tango Porteño, Piazzolla Tango. Javier has numerous recordings.

Pablo, who is originally from the suburbs of Buenos Aires, has studied tango with various master teachers in his home country and in the United States.

Iwona explored a few other forms of dance before taking up tango, which she has studied in depth and practiced locally. Pablo and Iwona teach the Argentine tango classes at Princeton Adult School and they teach regularly at Viva Tango in Princeton, where they are artists in residence.
