No VivaTango Event this Thursday June 30th. Our dance floor will be resurfaced during that week and will not be available to us until the following Thursday July 7th.

Private Lesson Opportunity with World Champion: 2010 Mundial Champion, Sebastian Jimenez and his new partner Joana Fernandes Gomez, will be in New Jersey July 11-18. Don’t miss out on this rare and special opportunity to take a class from this world class dancer, recognized today to be one of the best dancers of the Tango Salon style. A student of Carlos Perez and Rosa Forte, Sebastian along with his former partner Maria Ines Bogado, won both the World Salon Tango Championship and the Tango Vals category of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Championship in 2010. He was the youngest competitor to ever win a World Tango Competition. Sebastian is well loved by students, everywhere. He tours constantly teaching and performing at the most prestigious festivals in Europe, Asia and around the globe. Joana Fernandes Gomez, Sebastian’s wife and new dance partner, has been involved in the creation of dance performances, for many years. Joana has studied with the best known teachers in Buenos Aires. Lessons with Sebastian are $100.00 an hour and with Sebastian and Joana are $120.00 an hour. Book five hours of lessons with Sebastian and Joana for $600.00 and receive a $100.00 discount. Lesons will be taught in Cherry Hill NJ between 11:30 am and 8:30 pm. July 14th, 6:46pm –  Semi Private Lessons with Pablo Garcia Gomez and Iwona Iounescu: Pablo and Iwona will teach a special workshop at the Suzanne Patterson Building in Princeton prior to the VivaTango Thursday event July 14th. This special workshop will be limited to 4 leaders and 4 followers. The workshop will focus on the three key elements to improve the quality of your tango dance: balance, connection, and flow. This is an all levels workshop. The class will begin at 6:45 pm. Cost is only $20. Register now since the work shop will be limited in size. Maurizio Najt, Piano, is a graduate of the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Buenos Aires. He performed with “Amigos del Tango”; Forever Tango Orchestra; New York Tango Trio and other groups. Maurizio has performed in Lincoln Center Alice Tully Hall, Winter Garden, Philadelphia Kimmel Center, and the Argentine Embassy in Washington DC and Tokyo. He co-produced and directed the show “Crónicas de Buenos Aires”, a multimedia and educational review of the history of argentine tango in music and dance.

Javier Sanchez – Bandoneón, has toured the world with Orquesta Típica, Tango Pasión, Tango Viaje al Sentimiento, Pedro Chemes Group, Tango Emotión, Tanguera and Quinteto Típico Buenos Aires. Javier has performed in Buenos Aires tango shows including Café Tortoni, Chiquin Buenos Aires, Pigmalión Tango, El Viejo Almacén, Esquina de Carlos Gardel, Tango Porteño, Piazzolla Tango. Javier has numerous recordings.

A main goal of Viva Tango Inc. is to support Argentine Tango artists. In lieu of that we call you, our patrons, to help in a special opportunity came our way via Vittoria and Guillermo, to host a World Champion and wife; Sebastian Jimenez & Joana, one week of accommodations and meals, plus privates booked by the host or Viva, whichever is easier. Vittoria & Guillermo will help promote them and the privates. Sebastian and Joana would perform at Viva, either on July 7 or 14. More details will follow.

Recommended BEGINNERS CLASS

Our own; Iwona and Pablo will be teaching a new beginner’s series! Tell a friend or come to review the basics and learn about tango’s history and its music!

In this course, participants will learn the fundamentals of Argentine tango, the way it is danced socially in Argentina and around the world. Students will also explore the history of tango and its various musical forms. No partner or previous dance experience required. Students should bring comfortable shoes to class.

This class will be on Tuesdays 7:30 to 9:00 PM beginning October 6th at Suzanne Paterson. Register at http://www.princetonadultschool.org/registration.

THE AMAZING INTERNETIONAL TANGO TRIO

Maurizio Najt, Piano, is a graduate of the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Buenos Aires. He performed with “Amigos del Tango”; Forever Tango Orchestra; and he performed in Lincoln Center Plaza, Alice Tully Hall, Winter Garden, and the Argentine Embassy in Washington DC and Tokyo.

Rodolfo Zanetti, Bandoneon, is from Mendoza, Argentina and studied bandoneón with Jorge Puebla and Alberto Hilario Iribarne. He performed recently at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.

Adam Tully, Guitarist, Performed in Carnegie Hall. He was a soloist with the Port Angeles Symphony.  He studied in Buenos Aires with the great tango guitarist Anibal Arias.
