Helen is both a gifted instructor and an exceptional DJ, widely appreciated for her talent in each role. With a background that began at Cornell University, where she studied arts and design, she first built a career in high-end fashion consulting in New York City. That experience continues to influence her unique, thoughtful approach to Tango—blending technical precision with artistic expression. She found her true self in Tango.

Her deep understanding of the dance makes her teaching clear and engaging, while her musical selections keep the floor alive all evening. And of course, Helen’s eye for Tango fashion adds an extra touch of elegance and inspiration.

Thursday, May 7th. Helen Wang & Jan Ben will teach a lesson and host the milonga. Helen is a very popular professional tango instructor and performer. Helen’s teaching brings together the music, passion, elegance,natural embrace, freedom of movement and expression of the dance.

Her partner Jan Ben, is an accomplished tango dancer and will assist Helen with the lesson. Helen Wang is also an excellent DJ and will delight us with her music selections all evening, following the lesson.


7:00 pm: Lesson with Helen & Jan.
8:15 pm: Milonga with DJ Helen Wang.

FREE EVENTS FOR VOLUNTEERS
VivaTango continues to need help to make events run smoothly. Setup only takes a little time and you do not miss any milonga time. The same is true about cleanup. Working on the welcome desk is a great way to get to know your fellow dancers. The hero of the night is the person who brings the food for the event. If you can help contact Sylvie

WATER
We urge dancers to bring their water bottle from home to cut down on single use bottles. There is a chilled water fountain and a cold/hot water dispenser that you can use to refill your water bottle or get a drink to keep you hydrated.

DIRECTIONS
VivaTango is located at 45 Stockton Street, Princeton New Jersey. There is a well-lit, off-street parking lot at the venue. The large dance floor is in the smaller of the two buildings. The venue is easily accessed by rail from NYC and Philly. Just get a ticket to Princeton (not Princeton Junction. You get off the train at Princeton Junction and take the connecting shuttle train to Princeton.) The venue is 8 blocks from the Princeton Train Station with a lovely walk through the Princeton University Campus (0.8 mi.) MAP
