Viva Tango Inc. brings today the distinguished guests:

Maria de Sousa and Pierre Baston

Maria de Sousa
Maria de Sousa grew up with the tango music she loves in her native Buenos Aires. After living in the United States for several years, she started learning the dance to feel closer to her roots. Maria earned a certificate from the Escuela Argentina de Tango in Buenos Aires for completing its Master’s Program for tango professionals.

Pierre Baston
Pierre Baston’s interest in tango was ignited by a dinner show he once saw in Barracas (coincidentally, Maria’s home neighborhood in Buenos Aires). Since then, he has enjoyed exploring all aspects of tango practice, culture and history. He has studied with such luminaries as Raul Bravo, Carlos Rivarola, Gustavo Naveira, Susana Miller, Geraldine and Javier, and Pablo Veron. Like Maria, Pierre earned a certificate from the professional Master’s Program of the Escuela Argentina de Tango.

September 19th  Luciano Capparelli and Rocío de los Santos
Have been stars of many tango shows that have toured the world. The New York Times review of their TANGO FIRE performance in NYC said “No couple, however, was as beautifully lavish as Luciano Capparelli and Rocío de los Santos. In each of their tangos, tension gave way to voluptuous softness and powerful overhead lifts melted onto the floor in silken extensions. As the title goes, they were on fire.” Between 2006 and 2013, they have taught and danced all around the world, traveling with the TANGO BUENOS AIRES.

September 26th  Madalyn and Nelson Avila.                                                           Nelson Avila starred in the original cast of Tango Argentino.  The show played to rave reviews throughout Europe, Canada and Japan as well as 59 cities in the US.  Audiences included: Princess Diana, Jacqueline Kennedy, Ann Miller, Rita Moreno, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Rudolph Nureyev, Burt Reynolds, Kirk Douglas, Dustin Hoffman, Robert DeNiro, Liza Minnelli, Katherine Hepburn, and Placido Domingo.  Nelson has trained many professionals, actors and dancers including Rita Moreno, Sharon Stone, Linda Cristal. Doors open at 8 PM, with an all level Lesson (beginners are welcome) until 8:30 PM followed by Intermediate level class until 9:30.
Then practica, food and socializing till 11:45, all this for $12.

Pablo and Iwona will continue to teach variations of shared axis dance movements. Pablo’s comment that the common axis steps he is teaching is the instant in time that the leader and follower become one. We think this is the hallmark of Tango.
Everyone should try to attend these lessons.

Oh, an added bonus is Pablo DJing which was awesome last week.

Come and join us, for this Tango treat, at Susanne Patterson Center – 45 Stockton Street, Princeton (Located behind the Princeton Borough Municipal Building).
