At Suzanne Patterson Building at 45 Stockton St, Princeton.
Large and beautiful dance floor with off-street parking at the entrance.
No class, just dancing to wonderful music, socializing and food in a night club setting. 
Partner is not necessary – non dancers are welcome. 

Cost is $15, $10 for Non-Tango Dancers and $5 for students.

Maurizio Najt, piano, is a graduate of the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Buenos Aires. He played an important role as a tango pianist in the New York tango scene, performing with “Amigos del Tango”, and the New York Tango Trio; Forever Tango Orchestra (Luis Bravo’s Tony winning production); Lincoln Center Plaza, Alice Tully Hall, Winter Garden, El Museo del Barrio in NYC, as well as the Argentine Embassy in DC and Tokyo. He composed the soundtrack for the acclaimed off-Broadway musical, “Don Quixote” which was nominated for an “ACE” award and the original music for “A Tango for Tita”. Mr. Najt is the Ballet Pianist for the Astoria Fine Arts Center and the Frank Sinatra School. He performed in 2013 with the Forever Tango Show on Broadway.

Rodolfo Zanetti, bandoneon, is from Mendoza, Argentina and studied bandoneón with Jorge Puebla and Alberto Hilario Iribarne, and piano with Monica Rizzo and Roberto Urbay at the National University of Cuyo in Mendoza. With the support of the Astor Piazzolla Foundation in 2002, he was named the Musical Director of Piazzolla’s “operita” Maria de Buenos Aires, which was performed in Mendoza. While still a teenager, he joined the Orquesta Tipica Mancifesta and later, played with Tango & Punto, an ensemble from Mendoza. In 2004, he joined the Bandó quintet and then toured the U.S. performing in New York, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Rodolfo recently performed at the Kennedy Center and in 2013, with PASO and Maria Volonte at the Embassy of Argentina for the Organization of American States celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Recovery of Democracy in the Republic of Argentina.

Wendy Zoffer, flute, is originally from Montreal, and performs frequently at Grounds for Sculpture, Princeton University Events, The Governor’s Mansion, and numerous hotels, and clubs, in the New Jersey/New York/Philadelphia metropolitan areas. Ms. Zoffer has worked with notable jazz musicians such as Richie Cole, Gerry Hemingway, and Gary Mazzaroppi. She recently performed Tango with Maurizio Najt at Why Not Café on Orchard Street (Manhattan). As the Founder/Director of the respected company, Princeton Music Connection, she books the best live bands, DJs, classical, jazz and tango for weddings, parties, and corporate events in the New York Metropolitan Area and nationally. Her CD, Bird of Beauty, jazz standards, Latin, and swing, and Children’s CD Sing Me a Day are available at The Princeton Record Exchange.

John DeCesare, Bass, A longtime professional musician, He initially studied with the great bassist/ composer/ arranger, Pablo Aslan. John DeCesare has performed Argentine Tango at many milongas, concerts and cultural events in and around the tristate area. John has performed with many tango contemporaries on the scene now like Hector del Curto, Fernando Otero and Tito Castro. In early January John, along with producer Meg Farrell, began his own milonga in New York City. Longtime New York City musician, John performs a myriad of styles on bass, guitar, keyboard and vocals; he fell in love with Argentine tango when he first saw “Forever Tango” in New York.

If you did not see our musicians’ performances at the Lincoln Center or the Kennedy Center then join us tonight to see these talented musicians. Come to listen and dance to their music. This is VivaTango’s Party to celebrate the end of summer and David’s return from his sailing adventure across the Atlantic and through the Mediterranean.  Mercedes has fabulous food prepared, and Joanne has baked two cakes. After introducing the basics of Bicicletas & working on transitions between close embrace and open embrace, Antón & Jody will delve deeper into their exploration of Bicicletas: their origin and history will be discussed and their many variations will be taught. Don’t miss this fun & informative class! After, Antón DJs with some rare, new music from Buenos Aires.

Party master Michael is working on the details to make this the best place to Tango that day in the tri state area. Antón Gazenbeek, together with Jody Person return again this week to teach Tango Vals. The lesson will be followed by a performance and a practica. The Viva Tango classes this Thursday will focus on the fundamental concepts, the structural secrets and musicality of Tango Vals. At the conclusion of this week’s lesson Anton and Jody will do a performance of Tango Vals.

Antón Gazenbeek, together with Jody Person return again this week to teach Tango Vals in the Criollo sytle. Their vals lesson last week was praised by the 40+ dancers who participated in the lesson. Tango Vals is one of their specialities for which they have a worldwide reputation. The lesson was followed by the Practica which had 60+ dancers who were dancing the entire evening. We all are looking forward to this week’s lesson and practica. The Viva Tango classes this Thursday will focus on the fundamental concepts, the structural secrets and musicality of Tango Vals. At the conclusion of this week’s lesson Anton and Jody will do a performance of Tango Vals.

Today, Thursday, June 27, Viva Tango Inc. will have a Milonga with live music by Pianist Maurizio Najt, who is brought to us by the Princeton Music Connection (http://www.princetonmusic.com/) and will play with guest, our own, Wendy Zoffer on flute and others. Sound Engineer Eugene Jantos and Viva Tango Inc. will fill the void between live sessions with different views of Tango Music (Golden Age and Modern production of Golden Age).

There will be no lesson, just dancing all night with live music and DJ’ing @ Susanne Patterson Center, 45 Stockton St., Princeton (Located behind the Princeton Borough Municipal Building). Doors open at 8 PM till 11:45, light supper and socializing all for $12.
