In several ways:

First – We’re bringing Kelly Ray to you tonight at 8. He’ll be teaching leaders’ technique, focusing on the quality of movement. That’s a cool teacher with a cool subject.

Second – We’ve got ice cream and other cool offerings in, you know, the other sense of cool.

Third – We’re having a cool milonga next Saturday, June 30 with live music by the very cool, very exciting Maurizio Najt on keyboard.

There. We’re doing our bit for the heat wave. If you’d like to be cool too, we suggest you read our Tango Etiquette page and join us tonight at SPC.

No, we haven’t become the Ministry of Silly Walks. We’ve become the School of Beautiful Tango Movement. To further that end, we’ve got Kelly Ray, Philadelphia’s premier tanguero, to teach beautiful leading. That’s Thursday at 8 at the Suzanne Patterson Center. Admission $12 or $5 for students with ID.

Tango’s funny, or it’s sad. Or it’s quiet, or it’s mad. It’s a good thing, or it’s bad, but beautiful…

That’s what we’re working on this week under Lesley Mitchell‘s guidance -Beautiful walks, beautiful following, beautiful embellishments. Improve the quality of your movement and beauty will follow you everywhere. And what we need most of all to appreciate the beauty is men. Yes, there will be something in it for you too. Oh, you didn’t fall for that old chestnut, did you? Well the answer, of course, is practice, practice, practice!

That’s what we’ll be doing this Thursday at 8 at the Suzanne Patterson Center – a practica only, with no lesson.  We’ve got a milonga coming up on June 30th and we want you all to be dancing like finalists on Dancing With The Stars. As you can see from this week’s pictures, some of you are there already.

Right after he puts you on the merry-go-round.  Tonight’s lesson is about calesitas and planeos, two moves that will let the beautiful tanguera in your arms shine. And Marcelo ChuLo Manfredi will provide the polish. It’s 8 o’clock tonight at SPC. Admission is $12 or $5 for students with ID.
