Vittoria and Guillermo will be teaching one of their favorite moves tonight, combining basic foundations with structure. If you’re curious about what that might be, come tonight for the surprise reveal.

Join us at the Suzanne Patterson Center at 8. Lesson from 8 to 9. Practica from 9 to 11:45. Admission $12 or $5 for students with ID. We hope none of that is a surprise to you.

The tango numbering system stops at 8. Well, OK, there are Nueve Puntos but that’s a song, not a dance step. For dance steps we’ve only got ochos and the creative ways Vittoria and Guillermo can find to get into and out of them. They’ll be doing more of that this Thursday at 8.

Join us at the Suzanne Patterson Center three days from now. Lesson from 8 to 9. Practica from 9 to 11:45. Admission $12 or $5 for students with ID.

To boleos, ganchos and who knows – all from a simple back ocho. Will you succeed? Yes, you will indeed. (98¾% guaranteed.)

That’s because we’ve got the musical (and not at all Seussical) Vittoria and
Guillermo
to teach tonight. Come see for yourself.

Join us tonight at 8 at the Suzanne Patterson Center. Lesson from 8 to 9, practica from 9 to 11:45. Admission $12 or $5 for students with ID.

Can you dance slower?

Otherwise those pictures are always going to be blurry. So here’s what we want you to do; Take three tango steps, pause for the photo op. Three tango steps, pauuuuuse for the photo op. You know how important pauses are in tango. Now you know the reason for it.

Vittoria and Guillermo might have something to say about this in their lesson Thursday. Join us at SPC at 8 o’clock to see.

One good turn…

Deserves another, of course. Vittoria and Guillermo have just that in mind for tonight’s lesson – how to go from an apparently simple ocho into a molinete (or giro.) This will turn your head and hopefully your feet, too

That’s tonight from 8 o’clock until 11:45 at the Suzanne Patterson Center.

Admission is $12 or $5 for students with ID.  It includes the lesson, the practica and  our tasty snacks.

It’s your turn.

Segues

That’s the subject at hand this week – how to segue from ochos to molinetes. And we have our two favorite tango masters, Vittoria and Guillermo, to teach it.

Our not-so-hot photographer was at it again last Thursday. If you like Seurat, you’ll love these:

Don’t forget to segue (or Segway) on down to SPC Thursday at 8 to join us for this lesson.

Suspend judgment

Until you see what Kelly Ray has to say about suspensions.  He was just warming up to the subject during his last lesson when we ran out of time. So he left us in (groan) suspense, promising more this week.

You won’t want to miss this. That’s 8 o’clock tonight at the Suzanne Patterson Center, where the air conditioning is quite good.  Admission $12 or $5 for students with ID.

We just can’t wait to see what Kelly Ray has to say about suspensions this Thursday at SPC.

Many thanks to Maurizio Najt for a fabulous performance at our hotter than Hades milonga Saturday night. Some pictures of the milonga and a few from last week here:

Join us Thursday at 8. We’ll be wondering about suspensions until then. Won’t you?

We’re embellishing

And you will be too if you join us at SPC at 8 tonight to see Lesley Mitchell demonstrate how to get the quality of your tango movements just right so you can move easily, confidently, smoothly, and embellish to your heart’s content.

Don’t forget we’ve got our Milonga Brava on Saturday, a milonga with all the embellishments – live music by Maurizio Najt, great food by Nelly, lovely wine (if you choose to bring it), good dancers, nice people. You can count on that because we’d never embellish the truth.

We’re in the middle

Of a terrific series of lessons on technique by Lesley Mitchell and Kelly Ray. It’s lovely to know how to tango, but better still to get your movements exactly right, lending grace and elegance to your dance. If you’d like your tango to be comme il faut, join us at SPC Thursday at 8 for Lesley’s next class.

That takes care of the middle of the week, but we’re not done with you yet. We want to see you on the weekend too. Our Milonga Brava is this Saturday, June 30 at All Saints Church. It features the very accomplished composer, teacher and pianist Maurizio Najt.

If you want to be right in the middle of things this weekend, you’ve simply got to come!
