Viva Tango Inc. is hosting Teresa & Juan Carlos for a lesson and practica.
Born in Chile where they lived for more than 20 years until moving to the United States, they longed for their beautiful Valparaiso, Chile.  They quickly found a way to connect with their roots… Argentine tango became their passion and, being avid dancers, they quickly embraced   salon-style tango.  Among their most  inspiring teachers are many maestros and seasoned milongueros from Buenos Aires.  They shared their knowledge, their wisdom and passion  for the dance.

Their unique style is one of intimate connection, elegance and wit, emphasizing an important element in tango: the “heart to heart” dialogue through music.

Teresa & Juan Carlos can always be found at one of the many milongas in Philadelphia, Delaware, Washington, New York, Denver and Buenos Aires.  They perform at many events and are always eager to share their dance with their community.

Richard Council has taught and performed on stage and television throughout the United States and abroad. In 2003 he, with partner Colette Hebert, won the US IDO Argentine Tango Championships in Miami, Florida. They were finalists in the Tango Salon division and semi-finalists in the Stage Performance division of the World Championships held in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2005. He has been an invited performer on the Susana Gimenez Show in Argentina, the Tango Libertad Festival in Japan. He has taught and performed at the Portland Tango festivals a number of times. In addition to performing with Hebert in the short film “The Heart of Tango” he has also had the pleasure to share the stage with company members of Tango X 2, Forever Tango, Tango Fire, Tango Argentino and more. Richard’s reputation as a tango dancer and educator has begun to spread to more and more cities around the United States. He makes every effort to break concepts down into a manageable yet sophisticated vocabulary encouraging others to dance to their fullest potential and with their own voice. He is appreciated for his elegant approach to tango and the clear and precise methodology of his teaching. Richard continues to sharpen his skills as a dancer and teacher so that he might educate others in the rich language that is Argentine Tango.
