Pablo Mosteiro Romero will be performing at Viva on Thursday May 10 at our May Milonga. Pablo is a composer, a pianist and a singer. This very talented artist is also the creator and host of Death of Tango, a Saturday evening (6-8pm) radio show on WPRB 103.3FM.
Pablo’s tango immersion will be evident when you see him perform. He plays tango on the radio, plays tango on the piano, sings tango, composes tango and even dances tango. You don’t want to miss this.
Join us Thursday at 8 at the Suzanne Patterson Center where you can see at least three, and probably four, of Pablo’s talents on display.
Refreshments will be provided but please feel free to bring a bottle of wine to share.
Admission $15, $7 for students with ID

Throw your weight around with us, tonight at 8 o’clock. Vittoria and Guillermo will teach a turn with a triple weight change. Nobody does it better.
This comes in handy quite a lot, particularly if you’re inclined to vals. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – If a man can get the embrace and the weight changes right, he’s halfway to being every woman’s dream tanguero. Let Vittoria and Guillermo show you how tonight at SPC, 8 pm. Admission $12, $5 for students with ID.
Viva has been unable to obtain any space for a Saturday milonga in May. We’re not letting that stop us, however. Next Thursday, May 10, we’re having our May milonga at SPC. It will be such a special night you’ll think you’ve already made it to the weekend.
There will be live music by Princeton’s own Pablo Mosteiro Romero, creator and host of The Death of Tango on 103.3 FM. Wait until you hear Pablo sing and play the piano! You can do that while you’re nibbling on Nelly’s scrumptious food, sipping a glass of wine and dancing tango. We think that perfectly completes all the ingredients you need for a heavenly Thursday.

To everything there is a season. And this week it’s the season for turns.
Turns with a triple weight change; That is what Vittoria and Guillermo will be teaching this Thursday.
Turns of the clock hands; Turn them back to 8 o’clock, our start time from now until the fall.
Turns around the dance floor to say goodbye to friends; See the Picasa album.

Tonight at 9:15 pm Vittoria and Guillermo teach a tango step most everyone gets wrong – paradas. It’s that stick-out-the-leg, make-the-follower-stop, pivot-a-little-and-climb-over step, the one everyone trips on. Vittoria and Guillermo do a superb job of demonstrating the lead and follow for this difficult step. You’ll want to learn this.
And Nelly will reward you for it with coffee and cake following the lesson. A good evening all around.
And there’s more good news; Next week we return to our 8 o’clock start time for the next six months.
Tonight’s the last night students attend the practica for free. Take advantage of it.

Guillermo is very good, world class good, at stopping Vittoria dead in her tracks. Vittoria is even better at getting around him. Both are acquired skills.
This Thursday at 9:15 pm, Vittoria and Guillermo will be demonstrating all the skills involved in those stops – paradas in tango lingo. Join us at SPC for a class in paradas with embellishments, some good music, tasty snacks, nice people. ‘Nuf said. We’ll stop now.

Vittoria and Guillermo have returned from their tour of California and are ready to dish up salidas tonight at 9:15 at SPC.
Salida translates as exit, the way out. And it is the way out – onto the dance floor. Vittoria and Guillermo will teach salidas with a half turn and embellishments tonight. In other words, spicy salidas.
Nelly has returned from her tour of ShopRite and is ready to dish up Saladas. Salada translates as that bag on a string that you dip into hot water. If you haven’t noticed, Nelly has been providing a variety of coffees and teas for the past several weeks. Add that to a great lesson, good food, nice music, wonderful people and you’ve got a complete fun evening of tango.
We hope you’ll join us for it. The kettle’s on.

Thanks to all of you who came to our milonga Saturday night. It was a fabulous time. Great live music, great food, great people. When you get Vittoria and Guillermo, Lesley and Kelly, and the two Annas from Philadelphia all on the dance floor at the same time, that’s a critical mass of really, really, really good dancers. It makes a milonga feel like Buenos Aires.
Special thanks to the brilliant Bandoneonist Emmanuel Trifilio, to our pop-up surprise performer, Rebecca Salazar of the glorious voice, and to Lou Becerra of CJDS for teaching a terrific Beginners Lesson. Click below for pictures.
Join us Thursday at 9:15 pm for an exciting lesson with Vittoria and Guillermo on salidas. It’s where you begin, how you get on the dance floor. Vittoria and Guillermo have gotten on some of the best with style and panache. They will reveal their secrets to us. If you start big, good things are sure to follow, don’t you think?
