VivaTango Newsletter for October 13th

This Thursday the wonderful Eleonora Kalganova will be at VivaTango to share her Tango skills with you. Being in the smack middle of the New York City to Philadelphia area we are lucky to be surrounded by many Tango stars. Eleonora stands out from this collection. She is a spark of energy and lights up the dance floor with her whimsical personality. Her dancing is spontaneous and creative. Her foot work is absolutely amazing. I fail to find enough adjectives to fully praise what she brings to the dance floor. Come Thursday and see for yourself. If you ever need a lift to your day just go to Eleonora’s YouTube channel  CHANNEL and watch one of her 204 videos. Eleonora will teach a lesson and host the milonga that follows this Thursday.  DimOn (aka Dmitri) the Tango DJ will be playing tandas that you will love to dance to. He brinks his own spark of energy to the selection of tandas and is very popular at VivaTango and other milonga venues. He will keep you dancing until the call of “Last Tanda”.

They divide their time between teaching at their schools around the world, touring widely and performing at prestigious international venues. They are also official judges at the annual International Tango Championships in Argentina and other international competitions. Their charismatic stage presence and personalities, combined with their elegant style, creativity and extensive knowledge make them hugely popular with audiences and students alike. MayOk (aka Urszula), our international traveling DJ, has arranged to bring these Tango legends to VivaTango, and she will complete the event by playing her popular tandas for the milonga. EVENT LINK

HELEN WANG FASHIONS

Helen’s first career was fashion design. Having graduated from Cornell in this area, she was a fashion consultant to some well-known persons in NYC. After finding her true passion for Tango, she has also designed and sold Tango clothing. She is currently in the process of launching her 2022 fall line of Tango dresses. Helen makes one sample for display and then takes orders to tailor that design to your measurements. Only 3 dresses of any design are sold, and then that design is retired. VivaTango was lucky to have the first two designs of her fall line shown last Thursday. If you want more information, message HELEN. Any dancer who purchases a Helen Wang design will be given a 20% discount if they will later wear their dress at a VivaTango Fashion Show event to be held later. The photo shows the two dress styles, and Helen and Cristian in performance.

SAFETY

Our events require showing proof of vaccination. You only have to show proof on your first visit. We also remind dancers that they should not come if they have any symptoms or have been exposed to people who have Covid. Masks are recommended, but optional. For dancers who are not able to be vaccinated, they will be admitted if they have had a negative result from a PCR test in the past 72 hours or an antigen quick test in the past 24 hours.

WATER

We urge dancers to bring their water bottle from home to cut down on single use bottles. There is also a chilled water fountain next to the bathroom to refill your water bottles with chilled water.

Tango Partner App is a must have tool to find milongas and partners while traveling anywhere in the world.
