Authentic Buenos Aires tango instruction will be coming directly to your doorstep during their first visit together in the New Jersey/Philadelphia area! We have worked hard to get these artists to come visit us in our hometown and we hope you will take advantage of the fantastic events we have organized for you.

Princeton Summer Tango Festival week 2 features the talented Rocio De Los Santos & Luciano Capparelli

Workshop and Performance

Milonga

Cost $20

Rocio De Los Santos & Luciano Capparelli have been partnered as Argentine Tango performers since 2000, when they participated in Buenos Aires Youth Champions competition. Since then they have done numerous world tours as a team, participated in many tango shows. They also have danced in the best Buenos Aires shows. The New York Times November 2006 review of the Tango Fire Show performance reported : “No couple, however, was as beautifully lavish as Luciano Capparelli and Rocio de los Santos.In each of their tangos, tension gave way to voluptuous softness and powerful overhead lifts melted onto the floor in silken extensions. As the title goes, they were on fire”. This couple will teach and perform at Viva Tango at Princeton this coming Thursday May 31st, 2018. This is an event you will be thrilled by.

Private lessons may be arranged with Rocio and or Luciano at 7 PM the night of this performance, or other times. Contact the couple at lucianoyrocio@gmail.com

Pablo, who is originally from the suburbs of Buenos Aires, has studied tango with various master teachers in his home country and in the United States. Iwonaexplored a few other forms of dance before taking up tango, which she has studied in depth and practiced locally. Pablo and Iwona teach the Argentine tango classes at Princeton Adult School and they teach regularly at Viva Tango in Princeton, where they are artists in residence.

Special, Semi-Private, Partners-Only Advanced Series

Pablo and Iwona are offering a special learning opportunity on advanced sequences and musicality. This is a series of four semi-private, partners-only sessions, focusing on high level movements and musical interpretations. The series will start Thursday, May 17 and will take place at Suzanne Patterson Center from 6:45 to 8 pm. The class is limited to six couples, and the cost is $80 per person. To register, please contact Pablo and Iwona at connectiontango.princeton@gmail.com.

 Roaring 20’s Dance will be held May 5th, at the Suzanne Paterson Building. Great fun to come in 20’s dress and have a great time.

We return to our 8 PM start time this week. Come celebrate the extended dancing and socializing time. Milonga music is happy, fast moving music. Footwork for dancing to this music is quick and joyful. There is a feeling of freedom and celebration. Michael Nadtochi has been a professional dancer for more than two decades. His vast dance experience consists of performing, competing, choreographing and educating dancers and professionals all over the world.  For the past 14 years Michael focused entirely on performing and teaching the art of Argentine Tango. He has traveled the world, took part in major international tango festivals where he taught and performed at some of the most spectacular venues. Germany, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Cyprus, Malaysia, Canada, Scotland are among the countries that he visited as special guests and performing artist. He has taught and performed in the major tango festivals in the USA, and he has been one of the dancers at Malbec & Tango House NYC –  the first authentic nightly Argentine Tango show produced in USA.

Nick Franco, became enamored with the passion of tango music during his graduate school days at the University of Miami in FLA.  There, he lived in an apartment next to “Portenos”, a couple from Buenos Aires, who played tango tapes whenever they were home. Nick has performed as a soloist and in five to fifteen piece orchestras at private homes and clubs, at public venues, and on cruise ships throughout New England, from Palm Beach to Miami Beach, Fla, in the Baltimore/ Washington, DC area  and in Pennsylvania.

Michael Nadtochi has been a professional dancer for more than two decades. His vast dance experience consists of performing, competing, choreographing and educating dancers and professionals all over the world.  For the past 14 years Michael focused entirely on performing and teaching the art of Argentine Tango. He has traveled the world, took part in major international tango festivals where he taught and performed at some of the most spectacular venues. Germany, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Cyprus, Malaysia, Canada, Scotland are among the countries that he visited as special guests and performing artist. He has taught and performed in the major tango festivals in the USA, and he has been one of the dancers at Malbec & Tango House NYC –  the first authentic nightly Argentine Tango show produced in USA.

Argentine Tango Basics Class will begin Thursday February 15th at 7:30 just before VivaTango events. This is an 8 week progressive class taught by Pablo and Iwona. Registration is required through the Princeton Adult School.
