Nick Franco, became enamored with the passion of tango music during his graduate school days at the University of Miami in FLA.  There, he lived in an apartment next to “portenos”, a couple from Buenos Aires, who played tango tapes whenever they were home.  Eventually, he began playing tangos for them.  Over the past ten years, Nick has taken advantage of every opportunity to play the music for dancers and to dance himself at venues in the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia/ New Jersey areas.

 

Nick has performed as a soloist and in five to fifteen piece orchestras at private homes and clubs, at public venues, and on cruise ships throughout New England, from Palm Beach to Miami Beach, Florida , in the Baltimore/ Washington, DC area  and in Pennsylvania.

Kerry Kay is DJing this night. Classical and Nuevo, she will play her favorite melodies for us.

Intermediate Argentine Tango 8 week progressive series by Pablo and Iwona. Thursdays at 7 PM before VivaTango Dec 13, 20, 27, Jan 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31. This course is an independent workshop for anyone who would like to move beyond their basic tango skills. This course teaches transitions from fundamental steps to more complex movements and sequences. No partner is required. Cost is $160. Michael Nadtochi has been a professional dancer for more than two decades. His vast dance experience consists of performing, competing, choreographing and educating dancers and professionals all over the world.  For the past 14 years Michael focused entirely on performing and teaching the art of Argentine Tango. He has traveled the world, took part in major international tango festivals where he taught and performed at some of the most spectacular venues. Germany, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Cyprus, Malaysia, Canada, Scotland are among the countries that he visited as special guests and performing artist. He has taught and performed in the major tango festivals in the USA, and he has been one of the dancers at Malbec & Tango House NYC –  the first authentic nightly Argentine Tango show produced in USA.

Maurizio Najt, Piano, is a graduate of the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Buenos Aires. He performed with “Amigos del Tango” and Forever Tango Orchestra at venues such as Lincoln Center Plaza, Alice Tully Hall, Winter Garden, and the Argentine Embassy in Washington DC and Tokyo.

Dmitri will play his wonderful tandas and cortinas

Pablo, who is originally from the suburbs of Buenos Aires, has studied tango with various master teachers in his home country and in the United States. Iwona explored a few other forms of dance before taking up tango, which she has studied in depth and practiced locally. Pablo and Iwona teach the Argentine tango classes at Princeton Adult School and they teach regularly at Viva Tango in Princeton, where they are artists in residence.

                 This week come learn about                
“Making it twice as nice: doubling ganchos, barridas, and boleos
                     in a single sequence.”                                                         
          A milonga DJed by Kerry Kay will follow the lesson.                                                  Iwona and Pablo will provide a guided practica after the lesson for dancers wanting some help in mastering the lesson.
