Pablo, who is originally from the suburbs of Buenos Aires, has studied tango with various master teachers in his home country and in the United States. Iwona explored a few other forms of dance before taking up tango, which she has studied in depth and practiced locally. Pablo and Iwona teach the Argentine tango classes at Princeton Adult School and they teach regularly at Viva Tango in Princeton, where they are artists in residence.

Michael Nadtochi has been a professional dancer for more than two decades. His vast dance experience consists of performing, competing, choreographing and educating dancers and professionals all over the world.  For the past 14 years Michael focused entirely on performing and teaching the art of Argentine Tango. He has traveled the world, took part in major international tango festivals where he taught and performed at some of the most spectacular venues. Germany, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Cyprus, Malaysia, Canada, Scotland are among the countries that he visited as special guests and performing artist. He has taught and performed in the major tango festivals in the USA, and he has been one of the dancers at Malbec & Tango House NYC –  the first authentic nightly Argentine Tango show produced in USA.

Princeton Summer Tango Festival week 2 features the talented Rocio De Los Santos & Luciano Capparelli

Workshop and Performance

Milonga

Cost $20

Rocio De Los Santos & Luciano Capparelli have been partnered as Argentine Tango performers since 2000, when they participated in Buenos Aires Youth Champions competition. Since then they have done numerous world tours as a team, participated in many tango shows. They also have danced in the best Buenos Aires shows. The New York Times November 2006 review of the Tango Fire Show performance reported : “No couple, however, was as beautifully lavish as Luciano Capparelli and Rocio de los Santos.In each of their tangos, tension gave way to voluptuous softness and powerful overhead lifts melted onto the floor in silken extensions. As the title goes, they were on fire”. This couple will teach and perform at Viva Tango at Princeton this coming Thursday May 31st, 2018. This is an event you will be thrilled by.

Junior Cervila. He is an internationally known performer, choreographer and instructor recognized for his creative tango styling and intricate footwork. He learned tango in Buenos Aires principally with the great maestros: Antonio Todaro, Pepito Avellanedo, and Juan Carlos Copes. Junior has performed tango on the most world’s distinguished stages. Junior has been choreographic assistant to tango legend, Juan Carlos Copes, and his performances have been seen worldwide on Argentinian television, on stage (Broadway’s “Tango Argentino”), on tour (most notably with Julio Iglesias) and on screen (“Tango”, nominated for an Academy Award for best foreign film, 1999). Highlights of his career include performing in Tango Argentino (the shows by Segovia and Orezzioli), working with the singer Julio Iglesias, and dancing in the film Tango by Carlos Saura.

Guadalupe Garcia born in Argentina has performed and taught throughout South America, Europe, Asia and North America. 2004-2010 – Godoy’s Tango Company, Juan Corvalán’s Tangomalambo’s Company, and Roberto Herrera’s Company 2005- 2006 – Italy: shows “ Tango Querido” (Barletta), “ Noche porteña” (Matera) and “Patio Argentino” of Tango (Roma). 2007-2008 –Performer in “El Bandoneón” show in Athens. 2011 – Misterio Tango Festival (Argentina). 2009 – 2012- Teaching in Greece, United Kingdom, Poland, France, Italy, Portugal, Dubai, Brazil y Chile. 2012 – Performer in Argentina’s pavilion at the World Expo in Korea. 2014 – Principal Dancer at the show Glorias Porteñas, partnering with Juan Carlos Copes. 2015 – Tango e Paixão’s Show (Brazil). 2007 to present performer in local tango shows in Buenos Aires, such as Complejo Tango, Michelangelo, Taconeando, Piazzolla Tango, Gala Tango and Tango Porteño.

Special, Semi-Private, Partners-Only Advanced Series

Pablo and Iwona are offering a special learning opportunity on advanced sequences and musicality. This is a series of four semi-private, partners-only sessions, focusing on high level movements and musical interpretations. The series will start Thursday, May 17 and will take place at Suzanne Patterson Center from 6:45 to 8 pm. The class is limited to six couples, and the cost is $80 per person.  MAURIZIO is coming from NYC and wants to see all of you dancing. 

Maurizio Najt: Piano, is a graduate of the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Buenos Aires.  He performed with “Amigos del Tango”; Forever Tango Orchestra; Lincoln Center Plaza, Alice Tully Hall, Winter Garden, and the Argentine Embassy in Washington DC and Toyko.

We return to our 8 PM start time this week. Come celebrate the extended dancing and socializing time. Milonga music is happy, fast moving music. Pablo and Iwona will begin a class for dancers who have had some beginner lessons, but need the next step in learning. This will be a 4 week series starting April 19 here at the Suzanne Paterson Building from 7 to 8 PM.

Join Roberto Pena & Jacklyn Shapiro (Four times US National Argentine Tango Finalists & Instructors), on the first Tango Havana Tango Marathon. Maestros Roberto and Jacklyn, alongside Cuban tango instructors and organizers of the community have custom-tailored this tour to enhance your tango skills during the marathon while giving you the full Cuban experience. This week, come learn about   “Traditional and modern barridas.” Then stay and dance to the tandas of Kerry Kay during the milonga. Pablo and Iwona will be available during the milonga to provide personal help on perfecting the lesson. Take advantage of the guided practice session after the lesson. Meet new Friends in the milonga that follows. Weather forecast for Thursday is partly sunny. Forecast for Saturday is rain and snow. Dance while the sun is shinning. Heck! Pablo, who is originally from the suburbs of Buenos Aires, has studied tango with various master teachers in his home country and in the United States. Iwona explored a few other forms of dance before taking up tango, which she has studied in depth and practiced locally. Pablo and Iwona teach the Argentine tango classes at Princeton Adult School and they teach regularly at Viva Tango in Princeton, where they are currently artists in residence.
