Her ability to connect movement and emotion with the music have earned her top accolades. Daniela graduated with honors from the prestigious “Escuela Nacional de Danzas”, where she received a Master of Dance Teacher degree and began teaching, choreographing and performing in all forms of dance. She appeared in many shows, TV programs, festivals, movies, and commercials throughout the world. Daniela is well known for her teaching expertise in both leader and follower roles, and in all the tango rhythms, especially milonga. She will also DJ for us tonight.

Oleg and Lena Mashkovich are internationally recognized Argentine tango dancers, performers, teachers, DJs, and event organizers. They are the founders of the Tango Design Company and Argentine Tango School, currently based in Philadelphia. They host dinner and tango shows, and organize a “Winter Tango Escape” which is an annual Tango tour to Buenos Aires. They teach Tango following old tradition, and exploring new technique and flavors, combining them and giving the resulting style their own personality. Oleg and Lena participated in the prestigious Argentine Tango competitions, always becoming finalists, And last week they placed 6th in a field of 450 couples to qualify for the World Championship in Buenos Aires. Lena will be the DJ. She has the passion and enthusiasm to deliver unforgettable tango experience.

Thomas and Dagny Miller are hosting our milonga tonight. They have been teaching together at Yale Tango Club for five years. Dagny organizes the Abrazos Tango Festival and the Blue Moon milonga, both in NYC. She has travelled and performed throughout the USA. Robin has been teaching and DJ-ing tango for 23 years, he taught tango in Princeton for 17 years and is known for growing the tango communities in several universities, specifically in New York City. He is the host of Gallo Ciego Milonga in New York’s East Village. Robin Thomas will also be the DJ this evening.

Thursday, May 15th. Ignacio Ondartz and Meredith Klein are frequent instructors and performers at Viva Tango. Meredith is the founder of Philadelphia Argentine Tango School (PATS). She is a popular instructor, performer and the organizer of the annual Philadelphia Tango Festival. Her partner Ignacio comes from a province of Buenos Aires. He began studying tango in 2000 with Julio Valdez and never stopped improving his dance and professional training, taking classes, seminars and workshops with renowned masters of the genre like Fabian Salas, Chicho Frumboli, Julio Balmaceda, among many others. Andres Amarilla will be the DJ this evening.

Thursday, May 22nd will feature Rocio & Luciano Capparelli, stars of the Tango Fire traveling Tango Show. The New York Times review of their Tango Fire performance in NYC said “No couple was as beautifully lavish as Luciano Capparelli and Rocio de los Santos. In each of their tangos, tension gave way to voluptuous softness, and powerful overhead lifts melted onto the floor in silken extensions. As the title goes, they were on fire.” They will teach a lesson and afterwards, Luciano will DJ the milonga for your dancing pleasure.

Gabriel taught and performed for over a decade throughout North America. He believes that tango is a language we speak with our bodies. His focus is musical interpretation using the body as a medium for expression and the mechanics of connection. Catrinel sees tango as an excellent tool for personal growth. She hopes that through her teaching and dancing she can help others to feel confident, empowered and comfortable in their own skin.

Thursday, April 3rd. Juan Villarreal and Patricio Crom guitar duo. Juan is a singer, guitarist and composer. Patricio is an arranger, composer, and guitarist. They are one of the most recognized duos of the tango scene in Buenos Aires and the world. They have embarked on countless tours across Latin America, Europe, and North America. They have released many albums and were featured on the cover of “Tangodanza,” the world’s most widely circulated tango magazine. Juan and Patricio join you at VivaTango. This will be just like being present at a milonga in a club in Buenos Aires. DJ Svetlana will spin her whimsical tandas before, between, and after the live sets.

March Madness ends this Thursday with a special performance by director, choreographer, teacher and Tango dancer Lautaro Cancela and dance partner Julia Gorin. They will also teach a mini workshop. Throughout more than 30 years, he has shared his passion and knowledge with many notable tango figures. Julia Gorin has been dancing tango since 2000. Her unique method of teaching is the quintessence of her experience not only in tango, but other dance styles. Lena Mashkovich is an experienced tango DJ, who has been playing tango music for over 20 years. Her extensive knowledge of the genre and its history brings a unique flavor to any event.
