Magic filled the dance floor again last Thursday. Many dancers let me know that Helen Wang’s music was outstanding. One of those dancers was a follower who I found hiding in a corner near the end of the evening. The reason she was hiding was because she danced herself to exhaustion, but wanted to hear the beautiful tandas until the end. And the reason she was exhausted was because there were more leaders than followers. So if you are going to milongas that have a surplus of followers , come see why we say At VivaTango You Will Dance!
This coming Thursday Pablo and Iwona will have a very interesting lesson on a topic that is not often taught. Plus, Svetlana Howells will DJ for the milonga. Details follow below, as well as other June events.
Don’t miss the magic that happens every Thursday.

Thursday June 27th will feature a lesson and performance by Gabriel Huracan Gaumond & Catrinel Iftode. They come to VivaTango from Washington DC. Their dance style has been characterized as romantic. Their lesson will show you how to create endless possibilities from sequences using Sacadas, Enganches and Entradas. Gabriel believes that tango is a language we speak with our bodies and he is particularly interested in exploring the subtleties of how this communication works. His focus is musical interpretation using the body as a medium for expression and the mechanics of connection. Catrinel sees tango as tool for personal growth by removing the physical, mental and emotional blocks that stand in the way of full freedom of expression. Catrinel’s focus is helping others to feel confident, empowered and comfortable. All levels lesson starts at 7:00, Milonga at 8:15, Performance at 9:30. Lesson $15, Milonga $15, Both $20 EVENT LINK

FREE EVENTS FOR VOLUNTEERS
VivaTango continues to need help to make events run smoothly. Setup only takes a little time and you do not miss any milonga time. The same is true about cleanup. Working on the welcome desk is a great way to get to know your fellow dancers. The hero of the night is the person who brings the food for the event. If you can help contactSylvie
WATER
We urge dancers to bring their water bottle from home to cut down on single use bottles. There is a chilled water fountain next to the bathroom to refill your water bottles with chilled water and a cold/hot water dispenser in the entry to help keep you hydrated.
