There is always some magic that happens every Thursday night at VivaTango Events. Eleonora made that magic recently and Sophie June captured it on video. The magic moment starts at the 3:20 point, but watch the entire performance of Eleonora and Jen Ben that leads up to the magic: VIDEO. If you would like to see photos of some of the 50+ dancers last Thursday (maybe you are one of them) click HERE.

September starts off with a milonga, lesson and performance by the stars of the international traveling tango show “Tango Fire” and ends with live music by a great quartet, with a National Champion, performance and more between. Keep reading for the details.

ABRAZOS!

Thursday September 7th will feature Luciano Capparelli and Rocío de los Santos, stars of the international Tango Fire traveling Tango Show. The New York Times review of the TANGO FIRE performance in NYC said “No couple, however, was as beautifully lavish as Luciano Capparelli and Rocío de los Santos. In each of their tangos, tension gave way to voluptuous softness and powerful overhead lifts melted onto the floor in silken extensions. As the title goes, they were on fire.”  Between 2006 and 2013, they taught and danced all around the world, traveling with and performing at the “Tango Buenos Aires” show. Their last performance at VivaTango was 5 years ago: VIDEO.  The Guest DJ for this week is Guillermo Elkouss who was an instructor and DJ at the beginning of VivaTango 12 years ago. We welcome Guillermo and his wife Vittoria back to VivaTango. All levels lesson 7:00, Milonga 8:15, Performance 9:30. Lesson $15, Milonga $15, Both $20. EVENT LINK

She was a regular DJ at DC’s most popular milongas as well as regional marathons and festivals. Jackie and Sean are the current instructors for the Princeton Tango Club. Lesson starts at 7:00.
