Thursday July 20th will feature Ignacio Santiago, aSpecial Guest Instructor from Buenos Aries. Ignacio will teach with Meredith Klein and host the milonga. Thursday July 27 Live music by Emiliano Messiez and Rodolfo Zanetti. Emiliano was the pianist for the Broadway and London show “Forever Tango”, a show that has been seen by more than 8 million people around the world. He has also served as the music director and pianist for the successful shows “Impact” and “Tango Buenos Aires”, and he is the creator of “Barolo Tango,” a live tango show based in Argentina. Rodolfo, a native of Argentina, plays the bandoneon. Rodolfo directed Maria de Buenos Aires, the masterpiece of Astor Piazzolla and Horacio Ferrer in 2003. In the United States, Zanetti has performed as soloist at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Embassy of Argentina, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and Carnegie Hall. In 2017 he won the First Prize as a bandoneonist at the “Che Bandoneón International Competition” awarded by the Argentine Tango Society. In 2018 he played the bandoneon on the album “Vigor Tanguero” by Pedro Giraudo, which won the Latin Grammy for the best Tango Album. DimOn (aka Dmitri) will DJ between live music sets. Thursday August 24th will feature Eleonora Kalganova. Eleonora is an accomplished instructor and a spontaneous dancer who has danced all over the world. DimOn (aka Dmitri) will DJ the milonga. Eleonora and DimOn will give you an complete evening of wonderful tango. Lesson 7:00, Milonga 8:15. Lesson $15, Milonga $15, Both $20.

Thursday August 31st will feature live music by Los Chantas who are a multinational tango quartet from New York City composed of Emilio Teubal on piano, Sergio Reyes on violin, David Hodges on bandoneon and Pablo Lanouguere on bass. Four of the best tango musicians. Their repertoire includes original arrangements of songs by Gardel, Troilo, Salgán, Piazzolla, and others, and a playful, improvised style, Los Chantas infuses classic tangos with new life and unique flavor. Doors open at 7 PM and Live music starts at 8:30 PM. $20

DANCE SHOES

A pair of black leather shoes made in Italy by SoDanca, size 8, are being offered for $50. The condition is like new. They will be at the VivaTango welcome desk this Thursday to try on.

SAFETY

We remind dancers that they should not come if they have any symptoms or have been exposed to people who have Covid.

WATER

We urge dancers to bring their water bottle from home to cut down on single use bottles. There is a chilled water fountain next to the bathroom to refill your water bottles with chilled water and a cold/hot water dispenser in the entry to help keep you hydrated.

DIRECTIONS

VivaTango is located at 45 Stockton Street, Princeton New Jersey. There is a well-lit, off-street parking lot at the venue. The large dance floor is in the smaller of the two buildings. The venue is easily accessed by rail from NYC and Philly. Just get a ticket to Princeton (not Princeton Junction. You get off the train at Princeton Junction and take the connecting shuttle train to Princeton.) The venue is 8 blocks from the Princeton Train Station with a lovely walk through the Princeton University Campus (0.8 mi.).
