Thursday April 13th Milonga will feature Pablo Garcia Gomez & Iwona Ionescu who will teach a lesson titled “From Parada to Parada: building sequences with less usual paradas” Pablo and Iwona are the instructors for the Princeton Adult School Tango classes, and they are popular instructors at VivaTango and other tango events. DimOn the TangoDJ will play for the Milonga that will follow the lesson. All levels lesson starts at 7:00,

Thursday April 20th Meredith Klein and Andres Amarilla will host the milonga preceded by a lesson at 7 PM and followed by the milonga at 8:15. The lesson topic is “Sacada sequences that help you develop fluidity and elasticity to benefit your whole dance”. Meredith andAndres organize the many Tango events offered by the Philadelphia Argentine Tango School, and are internationally known tango dancers. Winnie Cheung’s Duo will bring live music to VivaTango. The event begins at 7:00 with a workshop where they will play, dance and instruct about the different musical layers of some iconic tangos to see how the magnetic push-and-pull happens within the music and the dance. Then they will play live music during the milonga. Winnie’s purpose in life is to make the world a better place, one tango at a time. She has played over 300 tango events in the USA, Canada, Asia, Argentina, and even Antarctica. Kerry Kay will DJ between live sets. EVENT LINK

SAFETY

We remind dancers that they should not come if they have any symptoms or have been exposed to people who have Covid. Masks are recommended, but optional.

WATER

We urge dancers to bring their water bottle from home to cut down on single use bottles. There is a chilled water fountain next to the bathroom to refill your water bottles with chilled water and a cold/hot water dispenser in the entry to help keep you hydrated.

DIRECTIONS

VivaTango is located at 45 Stockton Street, Princeton New Jersey. We have an off-street parking lot at the venue. The dance floor is in the smaller of the two buildings. The venue is easily accessed by rail from NYC and Philly. Just get a ticket to Princeton (not Princeton Junction. You get off the train at Princeton Junction and take a shuttle train to Princeton.) The venue is 8 blocks from the Princeton Train Station (0.8 mi.).
