VivaTango closed out 2018 with 100 plus dancers at a blow out Holliday Milonga Party with Live Music.

 

We Thank all the dancers that came for this party, and all the dancers who have come to our weekly events. We wish that each of you has a very blessed Holiday and a Happy New Year. VivaTango will be here in 2019 to bring you great tango events to dance and socialize with our Tango community.

There is no event this Thursday, December 27th.

Our next event will be a milonga on Thursday January 3rd.

Instructors Roberto y Jacklyn, Michael Nadtochi, and Iwona and Pablo will return in 2019. We will have a milonga each week, with live music on the 4th Thursday. We will continue to have guest performances. Valentines Day and Halloween fall on Thursdays in 2019 – we will have blow-out parties planned for these events.

We hope you look back on all 50 events of 2018 with good memories. We highlight below some of the special events of the past year:

Maurizio Najt, Piano, is a graduate of the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Buenos Aires. He performed Forever Tango Orchestra; Lincoln Center Plaza, Alice Tully Hall, Winter Garden, and the Argentine Embassy in Washington DC and Tokyo.

Javier Sanchez, Bandoneon, has toured the world and performed in Buenos Aires tango shows including Café Tortoni, Chiquin Buenos Aires, Pigmalión Tango, Piazzolla Tango. Javier has numerous recordings.

John DeCeasar, Bass, has performed Argentine Tango at many milongas, concerts and cultural events has performed with many tango contemporaries like Hector del Curto, Fernando Otero and Tito Castro.

Lesson on BOLEOS for social dancing

Michael is back form Bali, rested and tanned! Michael will conduct a workshop followed by a Milonga. The lesson will teach BOLEOS for social dancing: lead and variations. Michael’s DJing is very dynamic and includes surprise Latin and swing breaks. Don’t miss this evening.

Intermediate Argentine Tango 8 week progressive series by Pablo and Iwoan. Thursdays at 7 PM before VivaTango Dec 13, 20, 27, Jan 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31. This course is an independent workshop for anyone who would like to move beyond their basic tango skills. This course teaches transitions from fundamental steps to more complex movements and sequences. No partner is required. Cost is $160. Michael Nadtochi has been a professional dancer for more than two decades. His vast dance experience consists of performing, competing, choreographing and educating dancers and professionals all over the world.  For the past 14 years Michael focused entirely on performing and teaching the art of Argentine Tango. He has traveled the world, took part in major international tango festivals where he taught and performed at some of the most spectacular venues. Germany, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Cyprus, Malaysia, Canada, Scotland are among the countries that he visited as special guests and performing artist. He has taught and performed in the major tango festivals in the USA, and he has been one of the dancers at Malbec & Tango House NYC –  the first authentic nightly Argentine Tango show produced in USA.
